I don't know what I can add to words I that seemingly could have come from my own soul.
I too as a young man had far too many questions about my country and where it was headed, and I just eventually left. I am not sure if that makes me a coward or a hero. I have discovered no nirvana here in terms of many of the same things I saw there, one by one arrive here. America has a long reach. I too am no big fan of Obama, nor was I of Bush or Clinton or Reagan. I thought back then and still do, that the honourable Jimmy Carter was the man far ahead of his time, a true humanitarian who took on an America hung over from another war, a recession, and the downer time that was the early 70's when our president really was a criminal. People laughed at me back then, and do now, but this man was, is, a real humanitarian wanting to take America beyond its own narrow vision into the world. People couldn't cope with that then, they can't cope with it now.
I am coming to the conclusion that all we can do is fight the bastards as best we can. It is determining just who the bastards really are that is the hard part.
Like your beautiful Drie I also have been somehow blessed with a wife who seeks beyond all this, and understands when it is time for me to go.
I just got back from the mountains and I built a fire by my campsite and imagined you and the Coyote were there. A very cool fire. Rave on brother, your words are needed.
Aroha,
RobbRuahineshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09398484733805119294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7129514534983016636.post-91768496033815658252009-11-05T12:29:07.233-07:002009-11-05T12:29:07.233-07:00Thanks much, Robb, for your perspective and echos ...Thanks much, Robb, for your perspective and echos of a similar heart.
