Thar's this year's mish-mash of recent throw-togethers and long-time projects. Mostly throw-togethers, this year. Some day, my boat'll come in, though.
Last night, Drie, Anwyn, Tor and I went to Snow's production of 'Maid to Order' a delightful little farce. It's always good to be out with them, and I wish that time and energy allowed more interludes like yesterday evening.
Another photo of dubious quality, but the blush hasn't left the cheek of Autumn, and there on the mountain is the first good snow of the season.
Good sign? We shall see...
We got the electricity turned on up at the cabin, but unfortunately, the electrician never did a grounded evaluation of his work, nor did the county inspectors. Upshot: there are quite a few dead shorts in lines here and there, and with the help of the venerable Man From Tennessee, we've done what had to be done to make things work as well and as safely as they can be done without another $5000 worth of outside work...
And that picture of Drie? That's the happy place I go to in order to survive the aggravating combination of other's shoddy work and my own lack of knowledge and expertise in most areas of life.
Autumn changes come in fits and starts, especially in Central Utah, and one of the best parts of that overall change is how the light and sky accentuate the evolution toward cold and darker.
We left SpringTown at around 7:30 and made stops here and there, getting up to the Madison River pretty darned late in the evening; 'round 6:30, in fact. It's not easy to find and make a good camp at that late hour in the fall...
The kids were a joy and the people we met as good as we've ever seen on these trips.
It's one of those traditions that sustains the soul and exposes
all manner of flaws on my part, but it's something we'll be doing as long as my joints will support me and petrochemicals remain cheap enough for my slender means to purchase all the way up to the Beartooths and back.
Tennessee had Asher repair his dad-in-law's bike, but before he was able to get it back to him, he started ferrying Ianto hither and yon across the acre. Lots of fun and merriment!
