Just got back from the Troubled Youth Conference up at Snowbird. What an amazing and sensory two days.
Got up Thursday morning at around 4:30am after helping Jon Hooper move some more to head up to Snowbird. The morning sessions were very nice, much more real content than was had last year. I was really excited to do the afternoon break-outs, actually do some socializing, swim some laps at the old pool, and cap the night off with some eclipse gawking. Other plans had the universe, more to come tomorrow, i need some shuteye something fierce...

and so...
friday is a day for persistance and patience at an alternative high school. those who are here regularly are pretty good workers, but even they can get distracted by the advent of April.
Other than this petty struggle, life is pretty simple for us right now. Persistance is the catch-phrase.

I think one of my problems right now is the huge amount of world and local problems in which to contextualize my existance. When I think about what is going on, my mind boggles with the number of people out of jobs, experinencing financial difficulties, drug abuse, attempted suicides, difficulties because of family memeber called up for the war, respiratory ilnesses, and the like. I tend to be a worrier, not compulsive worry but the kind where the problems of life just stay at the edge of conciousness and trade turns at the top of the pile. I just got a letter from a good friend of mine this morning to add grist to my mill:
A deadly virus air borne, what the F#@% is next! I was planning a trip Asia next month but we canceled our plans yesterday. The airline desperate for money charge us a $600 cancellation fee per person. Our travel agency has told us to use our sky miles within the next 2 month as United will be gone as we now know it. My neighbor works for United and his retirement fund is SOL.
He has mentioned how quiet business has been for the last couple of weeks with people seemingly concentrated on the war in Iraq and uninterested in kitchen tools and appliances. The world psyche, at least for those with the luxury to sit and think about such things instead of just work and worry about where the next meal comes from, seems to be suffering from the situations afoot on this planet.
Blessings to all in this struggle for existential equilibrium.

will i ever get this going again? We shall see...
I have decided to forego all bells and whistles in the interest of just writing. No more waiting for the muses and guardian angels of html, Frontpage and Dreamweaver to visit me in my sleep and take away all my nightmares of failed ftps. I shall just blog to blog for now.

synchronicity...
I was coming home last night from a wee outing with Drie when a UB40 song came on. "This always reminds me of Lisa," said I to Her. "Hm," Drie said, "I wonder what she's up to."
Ten minutes later, I was upstairs checking the evening Email. Right there was a missive from that very same Lisa. I haven't seen her for years and years, in fact the last time I saw her was in a Smith's grocery when I was living in a Fifth-wheel trailer in Wood's Cross, Utah.
Lisa is teaching illustration and the like up in Washington. She is married to a good man and they've a wee tyke they're raising together. Oh yeah, she's also an artist representative and you can find her website here.
It has also become apparant that I am going nowhere in my big plans for an expanded site. Thus, I shall blog! Hope there are those who will enjoy.
Tak!

I am finally feeling an urge to get this sorry thing off the ground again, the tingling at the back of my neck that says my thoughts and ideas ought to at least see the sun of the laundry line is at work. Goal: weekend re-initiation of some sort of bloggenpucky and accompanying visual interferance.
Hold me to it.
Hold me to it.
